Drip lines release water slowly at the base of each plant, above the soil or buried at the root. Almost none of it evaporates or blows sideways, which is exactly what a sprinkler head cannot promise.
It is the right system for planting beds, hedges, vegetable gardens and anything on a slope where spray runs off before it soaks in. It also pairs well with a drought-tolerant design.
